Full Job DescriptionPosition Title: Personal Care Home Administrator
The House of Care is a small, personal care home for 5 residents located in downtown State College that provides care for individuals in need of assistance with the tasks of daily living and who do not have the finances and/or family support to obtain that assistance.
The mission of House of Care is to recognize the dignity and worth of each person, to establish personal care for those with limited life expectancy and care for people with declining or compromised health ,and to administer to the emotional and physical well-being of residents in a family-like atmosphere.

Position Description:
The House of Care Administrator is responsible for the overall business operation of the House of Care and the day-to- day operations of the facility. This is an exempt management position that requires a minimum of 20 on-site hours per week and may involve evening or weekend hours as needed. Specific daytime hours are flexible when responsibilities allow and the administrator remains accessible to staff. Benefits are not included with compensation at this time.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage 5-person staff to meet needs of residents, including hiring, scheduling, and reviewing
  • Maintain accurate records of required training and certifications for all staff and ensure certifications are complete and up-to-date (CPR, first aid, diabetic, etc.) in comply with PA Department of Health requirements and regulations
  • Oversee policy and processes for distribution and disposal of medications and correspondence with pharmacies
  • Maintain the budget, payroll, and taxes with the assistance of the Board Treasurer and tax accountant
  • Manage resident admission and annual assessments
  • Serve as communication liaison for residents at House of Care and conduct all communications with third party agencies as necessary
  • Oversee public relations activities and opportunities to share the mission of House of Care in the community
  • Correspond with Board of Directors regularly and hold monthly Board meetings
  • Record and track donations and philanthropic giving to House of Care, and acknowledge donations with IRS receipt letters
  • Maintain communication with the Board on decision-making and priorities
  • Identify opportunities for financial support through community partnerships, donor-fundraising throughout the year, and respond to funding opportunities
Requirements:
  • Complete all Department of Health required paperwork, annually
  • Maintain current local and state certifications
  • Complete initial 100-hour state required Personal Care Home Administrator certification
  • Complete annual 24 mandated training hours as required by Department of Health

The House of Care, a five resident personal care home in State College, is searching for our next best care giver. Direct Care Staff (DCS) will assist in providing excellent care to five individuals. Duties will include medication administration, meal preparation, laundry services, room cleaning, resident activities, and other duties as assigned by administrator.

Candidates must be 21 years of age.  PA State criminal background check, and current CPR/First Aid training required. $50.00 signing bonus if you already have a valid first-aid certificate.
